Samuel L. Jackson hosts The Shooting Stars in Desert Nights Black and White Ball Benefit – the Hollywood star’s first ever UK charity partnership. The US actor will team up with Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity to put on the show stopping event on the 11th June 2009.

Tonight is the West End showcase premier.

On Tuesday 21st October eight young filmmakers from London will be honoured with a special West-end premiere of the short films they produced for the Nobody’s Perfect short film showcase. They will be joined on the red carpet at the Odeon Covent Garden by members of the celebrity judging panel including Georgia Groome (Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging), Tom Hardy (Rocknrolla) and JJ Feild (Northanger Abbey).

The website posts a brief comment from JJ about the productions he saw.

‘It was fantastic to meet the young winners on location, they all really appreciated what a unique opportunity they’ve been given and showed real enthusiasm for the project and the important issues they raised in the films. I’m very much looking forward to seeing the finished films.’

A few forum members managed to see RRTM this afternoon before it closes next week. If you get the chance to see it before it closes, please do, it is really wonderful.

JJ was very kind and friendly again, patiently signing autographs at the stage door after the play, especially for those fans who had bought tickets for May but who wont now get to see it. He also kindly allowed us to take lots of photos which are being uploaded to the galleries now.

He told us that he will be going on a (well deserved) skiing holiday next but no further projects have been confirmed as yet.

According to National Club Golfer, JJ has recently managed to squeeze a golf trip to St Andrews, Scotland for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Perfect time of year for a visit there...purple hills and no midges.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms JJ and Kevin Spacey as being attached to the film.

"Con O'Neill has signed on to portray Meek in the big screen version co-written by Moran and James Hicks. The film details the tragi-comic story of Meek, who produced No. 1 hits before murdering his landlady and turning the gun on himself in 1967.

The ensemble cast also includes Kevin Spacey, JJ Field, Tom Burke and James Corden. It shoots for six weeks in London."
